Easy Tal Farlow Jazz Guitar Lick - Creator Spotlight - Edmundo Baez

This video with tab and diagrams is a chord melody arrangement for jazz guitar of the famous Duke Ellington's jazz tune "In A Sentimental Mood". The aim being to mix the melody and the chords together as a piano player would do.

This is a 6 bar jazz blues phrase in A7 inspired by the great Joe Pass, that mixes chromatic passing tones and blues notes with the Mixolydian mode. You'll find here the transcription, an Instagram video et and a brief analysis of the lick.

In this short video lesson with tab, George proposes a guitar lick/exercise in rhythm and picking.  He shows how to use different subdivisions in arpeggios following a 2 5 1 6 chord progression while using substitution for the dominant arpeggios from the altered scale. 

This warm-up exercise for guitar is to repeat a melodic line following the cycle of fourths.

This line is made of two bars containing a major seventh arpeggio (1 - 3 - 5 - 7) and two half-diminished arpeggios (1 - b3 - b5 - b7).
