Construction And Intervals
The formula of the Lydian augmented #2 scale is : tonic (1) - augmented second (#2) - major third (3) - augmented fourth (#4) - augmented fifth (#5) - sixth (6) and seventh (7).
This scale is generally used in modal jazz over major chords, precisely over maj7#5 chords.

To better understand this scale, let's break down its components:
Lydian :
The Lydian scale is a major scale with a raised fourth degree. In terms of intervals, it follows the pattern: 1 - 2 - 3 - #4 - 5 - 6 - 7.
The raised fourth degree (#4) gives the Lydian scale its characteristic sound and creates a sense of tension.
Augmented :
An augmented scale contains augmented intervals, which are intervals that are one half step larger than their corresponding perfect intervals.
In this case, the augmented intervals are the augmented second (#2), augmented fourth (#4) and augmented fifth (#5).
Combining these elements, the Lydian Augmented Sharp 2 scale is constructed with the following interval pattern: 1- #2 - 3 - #4 - #5 - 6 - 7.
Notice that the Lydian Augmented #2 scale sould not be confused with the Lydian augmented mode, third mode of the melodic minor scale, that contains a natural 2 instead of a #2.
